Creativity and know-how, experiences to network, traditions and knowledge open to the future and imagination. With a focus on the territory, the third edition of Fucina Madre, the design and crafts expo organized by APT Basilicata, will take place in Matera from 1 to 5 May 2024. The project, which is part of the strategic planning of the Territorial Promotion Agency, aims to describe the cultural landscape of the region, highlighting its liveliness and respecting and enhancing its peculiarities.

Basilicata, the landscape of design

In this sense, Fucina Madre presents itself as «A tourism enhancement and promotion project which on the one hand identifies “the landscape” of craftsmanship and design as a specific tourist-cultural destination, prefiguring an integrated offer aimed at the main tourism targets slow and experiential, and on the other hand identifies artisans and designers as true animators of beauty, interpreters of taste and contemporary lifestyle, the fulcrum of an innovative tourist proposal linked to the territories where they themselves live and work”, explain the organizers .

The activities of Fucina Madre 2024 will therefore be focused on the creation of an active network of artisans and designers oriented towards «Transforming their business into a modern, innovative and successful tourist experience, to present themselves as true influencers, actors and promoters of a new model of sustainable tourism that concerns both the cities and the villages of Basilicata”.
