Gratitude is a noble feeling, “an affectionate gratitude for a benefit or favor received and a sincere and complete willingness to reciprocate it”, we read in the dictionary. Ingratitude, on the other hand, is evidence of arrogance and contempt and evokes betrayal. Both are salient features of intricate human relationships and Elly Schlein a reason will have to be made. In fact, it happens that the secretary of the PDafter having nominated Lucia Annunziata leaders of his party in the South at the next European elections, is crucified by the former Rai journalist himself.

Annunziata had previously criticized Schlein’s choice to wear hers name on the symbol for the June elections, now he returns to attack it by agreeing with Romano Prodi who had defined as “a wound for democracy” the candidacy for the European elections of political leaders who, in the event of election, will not go to Brussels. “What he says is right” the former president of the European Commission, thundered the leader of the Democratic Party, making the distinction from the Dem secretary. “I I will go to EuropeI’m moving bag and baggage there, because”, explained Annunziata, “it has been demonstrated that the few Italians who have been effective there, I’m talking about David Sassoli and of Gentlemen, they are the ones who also went there with the dog. I’m going with the dog and the cat. My whole family will be there.” A choice, explains Annunziata, which “does not mean not being available to the constituency that elected you, because then you have to leave a garrison here, but in my opinion it is the only thing to do”.
