Serena Ionta and Gennaro Ricciardone are the two young and talented musicians who played during the David di Donatello ceremony at the Quirinale this morning. In front of President Sergio Mattarella. «A great emotion» says Gennaro, who with Serena, Serepocaiontas, shared school, music and London, where they both landed for work. And they met again, to play together as they had already done here in Latina when they attended the same music school. Gennaro is a musician in London, he has his own line up for concerts, his own group “which becomes a trio or quartet when necessary”.

He will soon return to the studio to record his songs. Serena released her single “Licorizia e Nostalgia” on March 29th. «A few weeks ago Serena called me – says Gennaro – she told me that Giovanni Grasso, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, had contacted her. He asked me if I wanted to play with her. I accepted and in these days that we played together in Rome, for rehearsals, we had a lot of fun.”

We ask him if it was exciting to play in front of the President of the Republic «very, but it was very nice. He told us to continue following our passion, to believe in what we do and that Italian art must be protected.” Gennaro still doesn’t believe what happened this morning, his whole family, even the one who still lives in Caserta, keeps calling and complimenting him. A pride for Latina and Pontinia, for these two young musicians.
