“More side events to attract kids”

“A new format for the San Ciriaco fair? I don’t have very clear ideas on the matter, one aspect on which I would focus more concerns, if anything, the involvement of young people”: this is how Massimiliano Polacco, director of Confcommercio Marche Centrali answers the question on what could be changed about the most anticipated event of the year in the capital. A formula that is popular judging by the huge turnout and participation by operators, ready to land in the capital from all over Italy, but which could be rethought from 2025 with some new features or changes to the program. According to Polacco, it is right to plan collateral events to liven up the whole city by taking advantage of the very high turnout of the public, with a particular eye on the youth world. “Until now we have imagined the fair as an event for the average Ancona area – he explains – we could try to broaden the audience to other targets, and also focus on flows from outside the province”.

In short, the desire is to make the San Ciriaco fair more and more a driving force for tourism, also extending the period of activity as has already been done in this edition. Among the innovations approved by Polacco are the Civic Merit ceremony (scheduled today at 7pm) in the location in Piazza del Papa but also the variety of products and the attention to the quality of the proposals in the food sector. However, it does not comment on the location of the rides at the Passetto which will be the subject of careful evaluation for future editions.
