It happens in Palermo (05 May 2024)
Everything is ready for the new edition of StraPad which, again this year, promises to be one of the most attended events in Italy.
Presented this morning, in the presence of the delegate of ACSI Western Sicily, Mimmo Totaro, the sports councilor of the municipality of Palermo, Alessandro Anello, and the vice president of the Italian Paralympic Committee, Roberta Cascio, the event is organized by ACSI Sicilia Occidentale, with the patronage and co-organization of the Municipality of Palermo.
Less than two weeks before the start of the event, there are already many registered people who can’t wait to color the streets of the historic center of Palermo. This year too, in fact, the expectations on the participants are very high.
As the President of ACSI, Antonino Viti, underlines:
“Strappa is in the heart of the people of Palermo and has created a deep bond with the territory in recent years. An extraordinary event returns which is an unmissable opportunity to savor the great beauties of Palermo by experiencing them in a day of sport and fun. I extend heartfelt thanks to the ACSI managers and organizers, to the promoters, to the partners, to the many volunteers and to the representatives of the institutions, bodies and associations involved who, with their commitment, show their dedication and their love for StraPad and for Palermo”.
The start of the motor-playful walk will be Sunday 5 May at 11:00.
All registered participants will receive a participation kit containing a t-shirt, nylon backpack, bib and bracelet. Souvenir medal and refreshments near the finish line with the bib worn.
It’s still possible sign up for StraPad 2024 online on the strapapa.it website or in Palermo at:
– ACSI Western Sicily, via Leonardo da Vinci 17, every day (except Saturday and Sunday);
– Tecnica Sport, via Aquileia n.38, until Saturday 4 May, from 9.30 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 20.00;
– c/o the schools participating in the event.
Furthermore, it will be possible to register no later than 09:00 on Sunday 5 May 2024 at the StraPad info point in Piazza Castelnuovo.
Participation is open to all ages. Participants under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration fee: €10 (Participation kit, medal and refreshments).
From 3 to 5 May, however, there will be space for Village which will be set up in Piazza Castelnuovo. Many activities will be proposed and which can be consulted on the StraPad website.
The institutional partners of the event are: the Sicilian Region Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment, the Metropolitan City of Palermo and the Municipality of Palermo.
Charity partners are the Federation of Sicilian Associations of Thalassemia, Hemoglobinopathies and Drepanocytosis Onlus (FASTED) and the APS La Casa di Lucia.
The partners are the La Domenica Favorita Association, the Palermo Social Promotion Association – ASD, the Vecchi Pistoni Association, the MINIMUPA Children’s Museum.
Media partner of the initiative is the editorial group of the Giornale di Sicilia.
The scheduled edition also has the patronage of FISDIR, Italian Paralympic Sports Federation of Relational Intellectuals, Sicilian delegation.
