TWO LARGE BRUSH FIRE IN PROGRESS IN THE SAN MARCO AREA

With the arrival of the warm season, the risks of brush fires in urban areas are back in the news.

Currently, two large brush fires are affecting the San Marco area, where piles of abandoned waste and brush have gone up in flames over a large area.

A dense gray cloud rose into the sky, becoming visible even from hundreds of meters away. This could indicate that not only brushwood, but also waste from some illegal landfill, is burning on that land.

It is a signal that suggests the need for greater compliance with municipal ordinances that require the cleaning of land. In the absence of such ordinances, it would be desirable for owners to act on their own initiative to remove dry grass, which is the main cause of fires, thus keeping the fields clean.

Small measures of this type could avoid overwork for firefighters, leaving them free to intervene in more serious situations.

It is important to consider that situations may arise in which the intervention of the firefighters is required just as all the teams are already engaged in other interventions, especially during the summer periods due to the hot weather conditions.
