As we anticipated, the snow started falling again almost on the plain (300 meters above sea level) on the Ligurian interior, Piedmont (Cuneo, Monferrato, Langhe, Turin valleys) and western Emilia.
In technical terms, these sudden snowfalls are called “heavy snowfall“ (transfer of the cold from higher altitudes towards the ground induced by heavy rainfall) and are, especially for lovers of the cold and snow, among the most exciting phenomena, characterized by very wet and heavy flakes, of large dimensions, rather scenographic, but which can also cause greater problems for traffic given the strong intensity which often causes rapid accumulations.
