Tomorrow, May 17th we celebrate the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. Two important events were promoted by Arcigay Ragusa in Vittoria and Scicli.

May 17, 1990 is a historic date that sees homosexuality canceled from the list of mental illnesses and defined by the WHO as “a natural variant of human behavior”.

This definition is the first important step in the process of valorising all differences to reach the goal of non-discrimination.

Since 2004 this day has been the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. This year too, Arcigay Ragusa will experience two important moments. The first, in the morning, with Vittoria’s students. The film Pride will be screened followed by a debate.

The second in Scicli with the Evangelical Methodist Church: a vigil against homophobic discrimination. The meeting is at 7.00 pm near the red bench against violence against women in Corso Mazzini; after which we will meet in the church premises in via Carioti, 2.
