Castiglione del Lago Hospital, the oncology day hospital reopened

In the meantime, the restyling of the structure continues according to schedule and will be completed by the end of the year

(UNWEB) Castiglione del Lago, After a six-year hiatus, Wednesday 17 April has reopened, at the Castiglione del Lago hospital of the Local Health Authority Umbria 1, the service for the administration of chemotherapy therapy with great satisfaction of the users who no longer have to go to the Pantalla hospital, the location identified for this activity in the first phase of the restyling works of the Castiglione structure. Thanks to this reactivation, complete care of patients can be restored from the first visit, to chemotherapy administration and follow-up. While waiting for the completion of the second phase of the works, the service has been reactivated at the headquarters of the blood collection unit, located inside the Castiglione del Lago hospital: on Wednesdays and Thursdays there is the administration of chemotherapy, from Monday to Friday there are the first visits, follow-ups and other therapies.

In the meantime, The renovation works are proceeding according to schedule of the hospital, desired on the recommendation of the Umbria Region. These days it’s in the tunnel is nearing completion connecting to the stretcher lift and will continue with the external entrance area, located in via Belvedere.

The work will then be carried out in the changing rooms in the basement; in the external walkway connecting the first floors of the central wing of the main building and the north wing; to the entire surgery department; at the entrance to the hospital and emergency department; in the basement of the Medicina building regarding the “mortuary” areas and the related connecting corridor.

The restyling works will be completed by the end of 2024.
