2nd International Chess Festival city of Tivoli

It will take place from 24 to 28 April 2nd International Chess Festival city of Tivoli of the ASD Scacchi Valle dell’Aniene which will see around 100 of the strongest players in Italy and abroad clash. This is the second edition of the annual Festival which always takes place at the end of April and represents a source of pride for the city of Tivoli, once again the protagonist of a great chess event. The event will not only be an opportunity for challenges between professional players, but also for all those curious and interested in the world of chess to gain knowledge of the discipline. The ASD started in September 2022 with the 1st Tivoli city tournament and, thanks to the great success achieved, continued until it held 7 editions of tournaments and 2 cycles of international festivals.

The festival will be divided into 7 rounds of play divided into Open A (professionals), Open B (semi-professionals) and Open C (amateurs and beginners) with a prize pool of 2,900 euros and will take place in the splendid location of the Hotel Cristallo, at inside two rooms that will welcome the participants.

Once again the ASD Scacchi Valle dell’Aniene, thanks to the numerous chess courses and tournaments in the area, is bringing Tiburtino chess back into vogue, which has long been forgotten. The Association currently boasts three gaming venues: Tivoli, Tivoli Terme and Castel Madama, where courses are held for beginners and competitive players, open to any age group. All this is possible not only thanks to the commitment and dedication of the president Daniele Pirozzini and the vice president Andrea Campolongo, but also thanks to the numerous qualified instructors, specialized for each need and level.

Numerous collaborations have taken place over the years with schools and local bodies for the promotion of chess, primarily with LUIG and with the Municipalities of Tivoli and Castel Madama, and the ASD is always open to any further proposal.
