The other evening the videomapping show ‘D’arme & d’amore’ was inaugurated which, until tomorrow (every evening from 9pm to 1am) will illuminate the facade of the Palazzo Ducale – once the residence of the Este family – with one of the most characteristic and evocative stories of the city of Este, that of the Palio. The event was preceded by a show in the Cathedral square which involved all eight districts of Ferrara and the Ducal Court with the figures, musicians and flag-wavers of the Palio City of Ferrara Foundation. This evening the show multiplies with Lorenzo de Blanck, who from 10.30pm will give life to a unique live musical set, from the balcony of the Sala dell’Arengo of the Municipal Palace which overlooks the square. The visual will be curated by Andrea Bernabini and Samuele Huynh Hong Son (Neo Visual Project). D’Arme & d’Amore continues until tomorrow. The artists who created it are Andrea Bernabini & Sara Caliumi. The music of Davide Lavia. The free entry event.

Arrows fly. Today, Piazza Cattedrale will welcome, from 4pm, the Blessing of the Palios and the offering of candles. For the occasion, the MB-339 Pans (National Acrobatic Team) of the “Frecce Tricolori” will fly over Ferrara at 3.45 pm, painting the sky green, white and red.

The excavations. Today at 11.30am, the Archaeological Museum hosts the free meeting “Work in progress. First results from the second excavation campaign at the Delizia di Belfiore”.

Markets over the weekend: the Fair of things from times gone by (today and tomorrow along the pavement of the former Palazzo della Ragione and Corso Porta Reno); the Farmer’s Market (tomorrow in Piazza Municipale); the creative market of the artisan artists Art of Ferrara (tomorrow at the Gardens 20 and 29 May 2012 in viale Cavour).
