Sanremo. There are important pieces of the outgoing council, plus a good part of the current majority councillors, on the list Sanremo at the Center who supports the civic’s candidacy for mayor of Sanremo Alessandro Mager.
The official presentation of the group of 24 candidates took place this morning at the Victory Morgana, in the presence of the mayor Alberto Biancheri and his deputy, Costanza Pireri, ready for the electoral campaign after the serious road accident that involved her over a month ago . The president of the city council is leading the civic formation that has governed Palazzo Bellevue for 10 years Alexander the Great. Among the confirmations we find the deputy mayor Costanza Pirerithe councilors Giuseppe Faraldi, Silvana Ormea And Sara Tonegutti. Their council colleagues, Mauro Menozzi and Massimo Donzella (ex Pd) are also candidates with Mager but in Anima and Idea respectively.
From the Biancheri majority they present themselves with the symbol of Sanremo at the Center: the group leader Marco Viale, Adriana Cutellè, Simona Moraglia, Mario Robaldo And Giorgio Trucco. The new entries are: Patrizia Purchase, Giovanni Benza, Gianluigi Borriello, Melania Celestino, Aligi Comignani, Diego D’Alessio, Sonia De Masi, Flavio Di Malta, Mostafa El Khayari, Giorgiana Gilardoni, Paola Raffaglio, Lorenzo Sicignano, Oussama Sobhi.
«We chose the Morgana because it is located between the old port and Portosole, where two of the most important redevelopment operations of recent years have been launched which will profoundly change Sanremo. We started from here in 2019, when I presented myself in continuity with the vision carried forward by my predecessor Claudio Boreas. That vision continued with the redevelopment of Piazza Eroi, the food market, the demolition of the eco-monster and the restyling of the old port. For me Alessandro Mager represents a new opportunity for continuity to carry forward a winning vision”, – commented Mayor Biancheri -.
«Today we absolutely need infrastructure. We are here also because we want to say that the things left behind must be valorised. From asphalt to new ecological islands. Topics on the agenda, – continued the mayor, in his last press conference with the tricolor sash -. We chose to join Alessandro Mager’s project because he represents the civic. We are in our world. We feel comfortable here even if it is a different path from ours, something new.”

The Biancheri councils have shown that it is better this way. The final result sees a cohesive and compact coalition that aims to win the elections and continue the wonderful work done in recent years. However, mine will not be a Biancheri ter but a Mager uno. The future of the mayor. Regarding Biancheri’s possible return to politics, also requested several times by the former minister and mayor of Imperia, Claudio Scajola, the mayor in office until June replied: «I have no commitments other than taking care of my family and of my companies. I feel great affection for Sanremo al Centro and I want to follow its path on tiptoe. I consider myself somewhat of the godfather of this group and I hope I can achieve a good result and be decisive for Mager’s victory. Being a mayor is a difficult but very rewarding job. Contact with people who can make you happy, with small or large interventions, is priceless. I don’t see myself in other more political roles. I will decide with a cool head if any proposals in this sense arrive.”
