Vittoria was awarded in Misterbianco as a virtuous municipality for the best attitude in managing and overcoming emergencies in its territory and for the support given to other bodies and municipalities in the event of an emergency. “A beautiful day for everyone, the citizens, the municipal administration and our civil protection groups made up of what I define as the “angels” of our city”. This is the comment of the municipal councilor for Civil Protection, Giuseppe Nicastro, who, on behalf of the mayor, Francesco Aiello, withdrew the recognition on the sidelines of the initiative called “Mayors’ Marathon”. “The jury made up of some officials from the regional department – continues Nicastro – gave us this recognition. An award dedicated to volunteers and which certifies their commitment during the problems that arise. It is a certificate that gives us enthusiasm and that enhances the municipal civil protection group 092 and the 107 Giuseppe Caruano group. I feel obliged to thank, in light of the delivery of this recognition, the general director of the regional Civil Protection department, Eng. Salvatore Cocina, and the director of service 7 Volunteering and training of the same department, Dr. Salvatore Beninato. And thanks for the significant support to Commander Paolo Monaca, sector manager at the Municipality of Vittoria, for his activity as well as to Chiara Garofalo, head of the municipal Civil Protection office as well as the director of the CUC, Rosario Cultrone. And of course we thank the mayor, Francesco Aiello, for his constant guidance in such a delicate area. His experience and guidelines have given us the ability to achieve these great results. We are proud and proud of this award. Which I want to dedicate above all to the volunteers, to their commitment and their self-sacrifice. Once again the city of Vittoria pulls off a good shot and brings home a great, visible and certified result.
