SYRACUSE, NY — While Syracuse Police Officers await the funeral of fallen Officer Michael Jensen Saturday morning, New York State Police will provide emergency services to the residents and visitors of Syracuse.

Troopers will begin responding to calls for service in the City of Syracuse beginning at 3 pm Friday and will continue to do so through 6 am Sunday.

The Syracuse Police Department is encouraging residents with non-emergency needs to utilize the following alternate reporting methods:

  • Tele-serve – Community Service Officers will be available to take reports by phone at (315) 442-5207. A voicemail is also set up for convenience.
  • E-serve – Online reporting system that allows you to submit reports and immediately print a copy of the report at no cost. Visit syr.gov and click on the “Submit a Report Online” tab.

Residents should continue to call 911 to report emergencies.

“The City of Syracuse remains committed to serving the public with the utmost dedication and professionalism. We appreciate the understanding and support of the public during this difficult time,” the Syracuse Police Department posted.
