CASTELLAMONTE – Intervention by the Rivarolo Canavese firefighters this afternoon, Thursday 2 May 2024, due to a landslide in the Preparetto hamlet, Case Capriolo region, on the Castellamonte hill. The landslide, favored by the wave of bad weather in the last few hours, has jeopardized the safety of the road leading to some homes. Road that was closed to traffic as a precaution.

In the next few days, possible consolidation interventions will be evaluated which, depending on the ownership of that stretch, will be borne by private individuals or public administrations. The landslide actually dug a furrow several centimeters long along the road, making it unsafe for vehicles to pass through. Mayor Pasquale Mazza also intervened on site. For the moment, as there is an alternative route to reach the homes, it was not necessary to proceed with any evacuations. A meeting is scheduled for tomorrow morning in the town hall to take stock of the situation.
