Naples, 19 April. (askanews) – In Naples a fast ship, the “Isola di Procida” of the Caremar company, departing from Capri, hit a quay in the port at Molo Beverello during landing, probably due to a technical problem or rough seas, becoming seriously damaged. The toll is at least thirty injured, most of whom were assisted by 118 and transported to various emergency rooms in the area with injuries and trauma. One injured person is in code red. There were about a hundred passengers on the ship, including many foreign tourists. At the moment of impact, the people – already standing ready to disembark – would have lost their balance, following the collision. A first aid station was set up on the quay and Caremar itself took action to provide immediate assistance to passengers and the maritime authority, to ascertain the causes of the accident. Men from the Port Authority and the police carried out a technical inspection on the ship to shed light on the dynamics of what happened.
