Pozzuoli is preparing to host the Tour of Italywhich will pass through the city on May 12th. The Municipality is therefore preparing the plan to close some of the roads, to allow passage for the cycling “caravan”.
The roads affected by the cycling competition are: via Montenuovo Licola Patria, from the border with the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania and up to the intersection with via Cuma Licola; via Cuma Licola, descent ramp to Lake Lucrino, via Circumlago di Lago Lucrino, via Italia (former La Ninfea restaurant), via Miliscola, piazza Aldo Moro, via Campi Flegrei, piazza Gen. Capomazza, corso Nicola Terracciano, via Anfiteatro, via Solfatara and via San Gennaro Agnano, up to the border with the Municipality of Naples. With an ordinance of the Municipality of Pozzuoli, in line with the requirements dictated by the Traffic Police Department and defined during the operational meetings, said roads must be closed to transit, circulation and parking, from the early hours of the morning until to cease needs.
From 5.30am to 5.30pm and in any case until the needs cease, the aforementioned roads will be established prohibition of stopping and parkingon both edges of the roadway, with the requirement of forced removal by tow truck, also extended to any spaces reserved for disabled parking. From 1pm to 5.30pm and in any case until the needs cease, the ban on transit and vehicular circulation as well as ban on pedestrian crossings.
From 1pm to 5pm A ban on circulation and transit is also established on the following one-way roads which lead directly to the race route and for which there are no alternative routes and reversing does not appear to be compatible: via Vecchia S. Gennaro, via Vigna, via Mameli, via Oberdan, via Luciano, via Rosini in the stretch from via Carmine to via Solfatara, via Montenuovo Licola Patria in the stretch descending from the tunnel entrance to piazza A. Moro, via Cacciapuoti, via Tripergole in the stretch towards the confluence of via Miliscola and via Orsa Minore.
