Friday 3 May at 6pm, Porta Futuro Metropolitan Area of Bari – Corato, organizes the meeting “Suffering work, being reborn with work: legality at the centre” at the counter in Viale Ettore Fieramosca 169.
«The mafia phenomenon is not just a memory of dark years in the history of our Republic which had their peak with the killings of judges Falcone and Borsellino. The Mafias, the use of the plural is a must, today, pollute and proliferate in the social, entrepreneurial, political and agricultural fabric. Just think of the violent slavery imposed on many men and women by the gangmaster phenomenon in Puglia and beyond, as well as the pervasive mafia presence in institutional, private and public corporate bodies which, even when very limited, constitutes a parasitic danger that can expand, annihilating efforts and actions of strong struggle for legality.
The response that civil society has given to the mafias over the years has been of great redemption, in the name of civil and educational commitment on the part of many associations and institutions, as well as of many ordinary citizens. There is still so much to do and build with everyone’s contribution.”
