Bagheria, rubble collapses in the Castronovo school: the intervention

BAGHERIA (PALERMO) – Rubble collapses in the Castronovo school in Bagheria. Part of an external wall ended up on the stairs overlooking the sports pitch. The school staff found out what happened after the May 1st long weekend.

The firefighters intervene

The firefighters and municipal technicians arrived to carry out an inspection and secure the school complex. “The municipal administration, with the director of public works, and the municipal councilor intervened – we read in a note -. The children were allowed to enter school only after the inspection technicians who confirmed that there is no safety problem inside the building and this in order to reassure parents and school staff”.

Securing

“The municipal administration – we read further -, in any case, ensures that all necessary safety measures are taken have been adopted and that at the moment there is no danger. The firefighters also intervened on site and began working to assess the extent of the damage and establish the causes of the collapse. Educational activities will be able to continue because the area is not among those frequented by young students and has been made safe.”
