A training center to increase skills, stimulate growth and attract new talent: it’s the new Apuane Learning Center of Baker Hughesinaugurated yesterday at the production plant in Massa in the presence of the company’s management and institutions.

The overall investment of 120 million in the area

The new structure covers an area of ​​over 800 m2 and can accommodate up to 200 people. Featuring six multifunctional training rooms, as well as other smaller spaces, the Apuane Learning Center will work in synergy with the Florence Learning Center in Florence, further strengthening the collaboration between the group’s Tuscan factories and local partners.

The work is part of an overall investment of approximately 120 million euros carried out by Baker Hughes for the last five years in its factories Massa and Avenza, to further expand its production capabilities and continue to improve its safety, sustainability and quality standards. Currently, they operate between Massa and Avenza approximately 2,600 people between direct and indirect employees.

A training center open to the territory

Baker Hughes will open the Apuane Learning Center to the local community, making it available both for the training of its commercial and industrial partners, and for local bodies and associations who want to organize their own events, and to build new growth opportunities for students. In fact, it will host some projects in collaboration with Universities of Florence, Pisa and Genoaas well as an important part of the new Neomech23 path recently started with the ITS Primethe Tuscan Higher Mechatronic Technological Institute.

Baker Hughes’ new investments further strengthen the presence of the company in the Apuan territory: last June, in fact, two new production lines were inaugurated at the Massa site, and the expansion of the Avenza site is and is still underway which, once completed, will allow the expansion of 19 construction areas of modules to 23 by the end of 2024, with a further expansion to 27 already planned.
