The Rolando Mayor Committee intervenes on Tourism, Sanremo’s main economy, also in relation to the tourist tax used too often for purposes not in accordance with the law.

We need to think about events that last at least four days and more, announce them and promote them year after year: a fundamental action that this outgoing administration has never done in 10 years, proceeding only with commercials disconnected from a central idea and which now he comes back saying that he will do it…”
“Moreover – they continue from the Committee for Rolando Mayor – the latest setback relating to the tourist tax used to lower the Tari, tax on rubbish, must be underlined. Instead, as per the memorandum of understanding with the Liguria region, which the Sanremo council joined with resolution no. 167 of 2017, the tourist tax provides for the allocation of a quota of 60% to tourism promotion policies, the use of which is agreed with the tourism table, while the remaining 40% can be allocated to improving the decor as well as infrastructure investments with tourist value.
But with the latest twist, 40% of the tourist tax ended up in the “rubbish bin”. Yet another demonstration of an absolute lack of planning and of how much this outgoing administration has cared about tourism and trade, another important pillar of the city’s economy”.
