Bike Experience, the cycle tourism festival in Moncalieri

The world of two wheels meets in Turin: Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April it will be the green of Cascina Le Vallere – Piedmontese Po Protected Areas, in Moncalieri, in Corso Trieste 98, to host Bike Experiencecycle tourism festival (free entry).

Created in 2022 by the association Turin Bike Experiencein the first two editions it saw the participation of over 10 thousand people, hundreds of guests, exhibitors and associations for the promotion of the territory: the initiative has thus become the second largest event dedicated to cycle tourism in Italy, the first in the North -West.

Each person – from the novice to the professional, from those who use the bike in the city to those who use it for travelling – has the opportunity to discover, listen, share experiences and advice on everything that revolves around the bicycle. 52 talkswhich range from how to travel with children to legendary climbs, from itineraries in the Chierese area to those in South America.

The Cycle Tourism Festival in Piedmont is a project by Torino Bike Experience, an association founded in 2018 with the aim of promoting a two-wheeled culture where the bike is fun, sport, a means of transport and social transformation. During the year, the association offers numerous activities to discover the riches of the area, promoting the use of bicycles to make the city increasingly cycle-friendly, ecological and people-friendly.

In addition to cycle trips, it also organizes initiatives such as Alpibike-Festival of high altitude cycling tourism in Luserna San GiovaniThe NordOvest Divide and the Monferrato Bike Experience and PedalanPo in collaboration with the Po Piemontese park authority.

In this edition there will be over 150 exhibitorsthe talks (52, as previously mentioned) will be in the two dedicated areas: The Living room And L’Arena.

There are 10 workshops, four excursions (around 500 cyclists cycled in 2023). One expected 1000 square meter junior track which will see the presence of UISP national technicians.

Bike Experience, thanks to these numbers, it is the second largest cycle tourism festival in Italy after the one in Bolognawill have a branch this year in Luserna San Giovanni, on 1 and 2 June, dedicated to Alpine cycle tourism with Alpi Bike organized in collaboration with UpslowTour.

The 2024 edition of Bike Experience comes with some new features:

  • Sustainable Mobility: The festival promotes sustainable mobility with a focus on electric bicycles, cargo bikes And folding bike
  • Women’s cycle tourism: special meetings will be hosted by the CCCPINK, a multifaceted collective of globetrotting cyclists and cycle travellers. Saturday will be dedicated to pink cycling tourism
  • Cycle tourism lounge: exclusive exhibition space that allows exhibitors to present directly to the public products and services dedicated to cycle tourism and cycle travel.
  • Ferrino base camp: here they will find a wide display of tents, equipment and accessories for travel and cycle tourism. Additionally, campers and rooftop tents will be available for future “on the road” adventures.
  • Free tent space to accommodate cycle travellers, cycle tourists and women who love cycling.
  • Cargo Bike Day and inclusive mobility: on Sunday, in collaboration with Cargo Bike Torino (it will offer games and activities for families) and a focus on inclusive mobility. By 160cm and the activities of Fiab Torino Bike Pride.

Opening hours and totally free access

The festival opens, in the presence of the authorities, on Saturday 20 April at 9.30 am. Opening to the public at 10am, activities start from 11am. On Saturday the Expo Village closes at 6pm. From 6.30pm there is the “Bike Party” in Cascina.

Sunday 21 April opening to the public at 10am with activities from 11am. Closing at 6pm. The festival is free, as are all the activities offered. Reservation is recommended on https://bikepiemonte.it/
