It is an open challenge to the city with the aim of bringing everyone together those who care about the education of adolescents and young people in Palermo to discuss how to build the school of the future together. Saturday 20 April, from 09.30 to 13.30, at Gonzaga City Day 10

Participation in the event is free and open to the whole city. The event is aimed at the entire Palermo educational community: adolescents, schools, families, political institutions, ecclesial bodies, educational associations, sports federations and business entities.

In the 10 participatory forums of the future, 10 challenges related to the transformation of school education will be explored. The ten themes of the Forum will be: “A school that prepares for life”; “The personalization of the school path”; The “participatory” school; How to “educate people about choices” including university ones?; The future of education with Artificial Intelligence; School and Sport: an impossible combination?; The STEAM approach: a new trend or something more?; The whole city educates (it’s not just a matter for teachers!); School and Family: is an alliance still possible?; From “us and the others” to “NOIALTRI”. In the school and in the city: stories, faces and signs of inclusion and interculture.

Each of the 10 forums will present a concrete proposal to the plenary assembly at the end of the morning. All the proposals will flow into a “Manifesto of 10 concrete proposals for the future of schools in Palermo” which will be delivered to the municipal administration, the Archdiocese of Palermo, public and private schools, associations operating in the educational field and all citizens who care about the future of education in Palermo. We need a more agile schooland – says p. Vitangelo Denora, general director of the Gonzaga Campus – cwho invests in innovation and stimulates the creativity of young people. We need a school that is less functionalistic and more attentive to the person and to the gratuitousness of growth and relationships. We need educating communities that generate synergistic alliances that support the sense of belonging to territories and between people. We must start from education to change the political agenda of the coming years, to create well-being, cohesion and social inclusion, to reverse trajectories of cultural and demographic impoverishment in our country. This is an ambitious challenge that requires determination, foresight and courage. It is a work of artisanal construction of the new school to which we are all called to contributeAnd”.
