Legnano. Waste, punctual tariff: here’s what changes

Concessions and changes in the calculation method

Legnano – Who produces more waste that’s also what pay more for their disposal. This is the line pursued by the innovations introduced in the punctual rate in force at Legnano after approval occurred during city council of 30 April 2024 (15 votes in favour, 6 against and zero abstentions).

Among the new features are expected two concessions. The first consists in the free allocation of bags for disposing of diapers. This measure concerns families with children aged up to two years. Similarly, particular attention will be given – and this is the second facilitation – to users who use medical-health facilities provided by the Asst. The intention is to help the most fragile categories or those who may encounter difficulties.

It also varies calculation methodas illustrated by Luca Benetti, Councilor for Sustainability of the Municipality of Legnano. The calculation of household utility costs will be calculated with a fixed quota to which two variable quotas are added (while before there was only one). The variable fee 1 includes the costs of collection and disposal of separated wastewhile the variable quota 2 concerns the undifferentiated part. The calculation of non-domestic users will also be made up of a fixed quota and two variables. “The benefits of the punctual tariff – specifies Benetti – they will see each other in two years“.

The new PEF was also approved

During the city council the Financial Economic Plan (PEF) 2024-2026. The latter was updated following the indications of Arera. The increase in the cost of fuel, inflation, but also the additional services and costs that the Municipality has been carrying since last year have affected the PEF.

In concrete terms, waste tax rates will increase on average by approximately 4%, for both domestic and non-domestic users. The real impact translates into an increase in approximately 2 euros per member of the family unit if they only provided the minimum bags. “In 2025 costs will remain mostly unchanged compared to 2024“, says Benetti, specifying that it will be approximately 0.2%.
