From the novel to in-depth scientific study: the next ‘Capital Encounters’, books and words for Pesaro 2024, range across different topics with two events, both female. Serena Bortone, journalist, author and television presenter, is expected on the Alusfera stage on Monday 29 April. She will present her debut novel “To you close like this (Rizzoli) in dialogue with the writer and literary critic Giulia Ciarapica (Piazza del Popolo, 6.30pm). The author tells a story set in the late ’80s when there was no internet yet and information passed through chatter or books. It is the story of two friends who have been inseparable since childhood and of a summer in which the balance is broken because love enters the scene, decisive and devastating, Bortone describes that season of life in which feelings seem to prevail over everything and gives us the portrait of a generation that discovers that it has never been so free. as they made her believe.
On Tuesday 30th the appointment is with science: Sandra Mazzoli, microbiologist and virologist, will be a guest in Pesaro with a speech on “Microbiomes and microbiota in human evolution” (Alusfera in Piazza del Popolo, 6.30 pm). The author will talk about the presence of microorganisms and the changes in microbial ecology over the course of human evolution as well as the factors that have influenced it, explaining how microorganisms have interacted with humans since the dawn of history.
