Non-self-sufficiency, extraordinary contribution to the RSAs of Trentino approved

Help for the non-self-sufficiency sector which faces the increase in the costs of raw materials and energy and which is increasingly strategic in meeting, with qualified welfare, the needs of a community which also in Trentino takes care of a growing number of elderly people. The resolution approved by the Provincial Council goes in this direction which provides, upon proposal of the councilor for health, social policies and cooperation, an extraordinary supplementary contribution to the RSAs of Trentino. Through the support, as shared with the representatives of the sector’s realities, each managing body is granted, within the limit of a balanced budget, a daily supplementary loan, per bed agreed with the provincial health services company, equal to 5 .4% of the respective 2023 hotel fee. Percentage which corresponds to the average inflation rate reached last December.
The provincial health councilor, who in recent weeks has been involved in the listening operation at the RSAs in the Trentino area, underlines how important it is to support, in the face of current complexities and with an eye on maintaining budgets, a fundamental sector for well-being social and socio-health care of the community, capable of guaranteeing an essential response to the many elderly people and their families.

The resolution contains some details for accessing the contribution:

  • RSA management bodies, affiliated with APSS, which close the 2023 financial statements at a loss, can apply. For private entities, the 2023 financial year loss referring to the RSA cost center is considered;
  • the application can be submitted within 15 days of the approval of the 2023 budget;
  • the contributions due to each managing body are determined with a single provision of the Health and Non-self-sufficiency Policy Service (to be adopted by 31 July 2024) and are paid by APSS, in a single solution, within the month following the date of communication of the provincial provision.

The estimate of the extraordinary contribution for 2023 amounts to approximately 2 million euros.
