“Streets of light” is the initiative promoted by the vicar of Molfetta as an experience of prayer and street evangelization. There are various ecclesial entities in our territory that will take care of its progress: the priests of the parishes of Molfetta, ANSPI, L’azione Cattolica, L’AGESCI, the religious of the Franciscan Fraternity of Bethany and the community of the Ark of the Covenant .
This new experience will see a place of prayer which will be the Seminary Quay (Cathedral side) in which a scout tent will be set up with the Blessed Sacrament exposed inside for continuous prayer and animated by readings and songs of adoration. In the meantime, the young missionaries will go to the streets frequented by young people to talk to them, to give them a testimony of joy that comes from having known God and then propose to be accompanied to the tent for a significant gesture before Christ. The priests will remain available for confessions near the tent to welcome any brothers and sisters who need to listen.
What moved the steps of this beautiful experience was the urgency of leaving the young people of Molfetta a sign of closeness and communion with the Church following the latest reprehensible events that occurred in our city. We feel a strong desire to tell each of them that “God loves you and loves you”. Perhaps this awareness will become stronger than any mistake that can be made and acts as a small seed thrown into the hearts of these younger brothers and which could become, if well received, fruits of hope for a better civilization in the future.
