Fourth mayoral candidate for Malnate: Paola Cassina, former group leader of the city League, has announced that he wants to run for the seat of mayor with his own civic list.
Not a surprise: Cassina’s desire has always been to run in the next elections on 8 and 9 June. Understanding that he did not have the support of the League, in February he decided to leave the Carroccio (read here) to try, from civic, to become the point of union of the center-right (read here). An unsuccessful operation, with city and provincial pressures preferring to focus on Sandro Damiani (read here).
And so, after Damiani’s investiture, it was only a matter of days for the announcement: Paola Cassina will be the fourth candidate for mayor of Malnate with her own civic list. A “civic” who, however, will in all respects be oriented towards the centre-right, also because – while waiting for the names – its list will be made up of several people who in the past have had anything to do with the League or the Brothers of Italy.
Here she is open letter sent to the Malnatese by the mayoral candidate Paola Cassinawhich we publish in full below:
Dear Citizens of Malnate,
I address you with humility and determination, as a citizen who deeply loves our community and wants to see it thrive. I present myself as a candidate for Mayor who believes in the power of collaboration and active listening.
I have decided to get involved and run for the position of Mayor of the Municipality of Malnate because I believe that the time has come to bring a breath of freshness and innovation to our beloved city. With the support of a civic coalition that is not based on party logic, but rather on listening to your demands and needs, I am ready to work hard to make Malnate a better place for all of us.
One of the foundations on which I intend to build my mandate is meritocracy. Too often we have seen political decisions be influenced by personal or party interests, while I firmly believe that the promotion of merit, skills and public interest must be at the center of every administrative and political choice.
I am aware that there are and will be challenges to face, but I am also convinced that with commitment, dedication and your support they can be overcome together. I pledge to work tirelessly to address urgent issues such as security, youth and social disadvantage, education, the environment and economic development, always keeping in mind all other no less important issues and the well-being and interests of all the citizens of Malnate.
I ask you to trust me and join me on this journey towards a better future for our city. I am here for you, ready to listen to your ideas, your concerns and your hopes. Together we can make a difference.
