Cremona Financial Police, arrests for fraud – Telecolor

Cremona. It all started from tax audits carried out on companies in the province of Cremona which made it possible to identify a criminal organization operating between the provinces of Cremona, Brescia, Bergamo and Verona which from 2018 onwards committed various economic-financial crimes. The Guardia di Finanza of Cremona, together with those of Brescia, Bergamo, Padua, Verona, Bolzano, Treviso and the Air-Naval Operations Department of Como, have executed a precautionary measure order and a preventive seizure decree against 24 companies and 12 people, in prison and under house arrest. The suspects are suspected of having created a fraud system through companies that issued invoices for non-existent operations, while others were real with hundreds of construction workers employed, whose social security contributions and Irpef withholdings were paid by defrauding the Treasury through compensation with the VAT credits non-existent. Other companies had been set up to launder the illicit sums. The judge for the preliminary investigations therefore found serious evidence regarding a criminal association formed by a building contractor from Rudiano (in the province of Brescia) who operated through a hidden office in Urago d’Oglio (also in the Brescia area). Also involved was a woman from Campagnola Cremasca (in the province of Cremona) who worked in a secret office in Antegnate (in the Bergamo area), responsible for managing the current accounts in the names of the 21 companies involved through the use of computer credentials of the numerous “front men”. Among the assets seized by the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza of Cremona (the entire seizure amounts to 15 million) there are also luxury cars, 70,000 euros for the establishment of a commercial activity in the center of Verona, 204,000 euros for the purchase from a Rolex watch shop in the province of Brescia and a 15-metre Riva motorboat worth around 100,000 euros.
