There are three dates in Puglia organized by the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese for the theatrical seasons of the Municipalities of Martina Franca, Bitonto and Ceglie Messapica with the Teatro Musica show created by Pino Strabioli and Cecilia Syria Cipressi, aka Syria. “Why don’t you sing anymore” it is a concert show for Gabriella Ferri. It will be a singing while reciting and a reciting singing. The tour will start on Thursday 18 April from the Teatro Verdi in Martina Franca (starting at 9.00 pm) to continue on 19 April in Bitonto at the Teatro Traetta (starting at 9.00 pm) and end on 20 April at the Teatro Comunale in Ceglie Messapica (starting at 9.00 pm).

An album book was born from a red suitcase where she collected Gabriella’s writings, drawings, notes, doodles, letters and thoughts. That suitcase was given to me by her husband and her son. In that suitcase I rummaged for entire nights and entire days, stacked, scattered, mixed up, there were and still are colored and black and white sheets of paper. I met Syria in a restaurant in Trastevere and she declared her passion for Gabriella. We thought we’d try to open that suitcase together to make it become sound and voice. We are scattering the notes and songs that Gabriella loved most and we are mixing them with her thoughts. It will be a singing while reciting and a reciting singing. A concert, a story. Many have asked me to borrow that red suitcase, I have always held on to it. Syria has in her voice and heart those pieces of Rome that will know where to take her, where to open her, where to let her sing and tell stories.
