Opta statistics

Roma is the opponent against whom Bologna has won the highest number of matches in Serie A: 52 victories for the Emilians in 151 matches, complete with 45 draws and 54 victories for the Giallorossi.

After the 2-0 success in the first leg last December 17, Bologna could win both seasonal Serie A matches against Roma for the first time since 1966/67 with Luis Carniglia as coach.

Roma have scored just one goal in the last five matches against Bologna in the league, remaining without a goal in the two most recent matches; the Emilians could record at least three clean sheets in a row against the Giallorossi in Serie A for the first time since the period between 1966 and 1968 (four in that case).

Roma have remained unbeaten in eight of the last nine home matches against Bologna in Serie A (6W, 2D), keeping six clean sheets (including three clean sheets in the last three matches at the Olimpico) – the only success for the Emilians in the period it dates back to 7 February 2020 (3-2 with Sinisa Mihajlovic at the helm).

Roma have won 11 of the 16 home matches in this Serie A (3D, 2L), as many successes as in the home matches of the entire last championship (11, but in 19 matches). The Giallorossi could record at least 12 wins after 17 home games in a Serie A season for the first time since 2016/17 (14 in that case).

Bologna have lost only one of their last 12 league games (W8, D3): 0-1 against Inter on March 9th. However, the rossoblù have drawn 0-0 in their two most recent matches and have no longer recorded consecutive “X” signs in Serie A since last September (three 0-0s in a row against Verona, Napoli and Monza in that case).

Bologna have not conceded any goals in their last four league matches, the Emilians could record five clean sheets in a row in Serie A for the first time since the period between October and November 1999.

Only Bologna (seven) and Atalanta (six) have scored more goals than Roma (five) in final injury time this Serie A season.

Paulo Dybala has scored seven goals against Bologna in Serie A, never more than one in a game; the Roma striker has scored in several different matches only against one opponent in the Italian top league: eight against Udinese.

After the goal against Lazio at the Olimpico on 18 February, Joshua Zirkzee could become only the second Bologna player in the last 50 years to score in both away games against Roma and Lazio in a Serie A season, after Julio Cruz in 2001/02.
