the Yamaha ‘Motorgame’ dealership in Lucca remembers him fondly

We miss Luca Braccini. Nothing to say, his passing, which occurred a year ago on May 3, left a void not only in his family, but also in the people who knew him and who, albeit occasionally, had the opportunity to spend some time with him. he. Wise, measured, diplomatic without being mellifluous, honest intellectually and beyond, Luca Braccini was a lover of life in all its nuances and when he happened to stop and comment on life, one realized that he had smelled and savored it without miss a single moment. Luca was a nice person, who knew how to express feelings and easily transfer them to those around him. He understood about motorbikes and we who liked motorbikes but we didn’t understand each other nor had we ever understood much except riding on them and already for our (un)thoughtful existence, he gave advice and suggestions so as not to risk harming ourselves, the last of which being how one bends in curve. He was right and even today, in fact, just yesterday, near a bend, he came back to our minds since we were struggling to lean the bike while going quite fast.

It is so that on the occasion of the anniversary of his death, at the Yamaha dealership in Lucca in via Giuseppe Mazzini, the staff and the writer, accompanied for the occasion by the insurer and friend Flavio Torrini, wanted to take a photo to greet him wherever he is. He who, moreover, was the sales manager of Yamaha at the top dealership of all the others, that of San Giuliano Terme.

The writer, ever since he lived in this valley of tears called Lucca, has always purchased his motorbikes from Serchio Motori, for himself and also for those who, unfortunately, have been gone for a while. Luca Braccini has always been, even in those moments, spending money on a two-wheeler, the friend who knew how to advise and give an indication, who played down the dramatizable, who gave smiles, witty observations, all imbued with that common sense that harbors , fortunately, in the minds and thoughts of respectable people.

In front of the dealership, ready for the (photographic) shot, in addition to the Lucca Service advisor Fabrizio Cosmi, also the sales manager Gianluca Morlacchi, the workshop manager Davide Pasquinelli and the two queens of the Yamaha market: The brand new MT09 (available, moreover, for tests and estimates and the T-Max Tech, record-selling scooter in the last twenty years.

It’s a shame Luca wasn’t there to share the purchase of the scooter as he has done so many other times. For us, however, it is as if he were still there to hand us the keys and give us a pat on the face.

Luca – recalls Fabrizio Cosmi – he was a charismatic and elegant person who was able to instill in me great determination and a sense of duty. His disappearance did not go unnoticed even by customers. Even those who had seen him only once years before, who came to the shop and learned of his passing, were saddened and heartbroken..

It should be added that the Community Motorgame Crew to which Luca himself was very close continues to meet on Friday evenings at the Nicolas pub for a drink with friends.
