Placentia Half Marathon, the 27th edition begins: all the changes to the road system

The curtain rises on the 27th edition of the Placentia Half Marathon. Traffic and parking bans have been in force since the night between Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May to allow the safe carrying out of an event which brought around 10 thousand people through the streets of the city. The half marathon route can be viewed in real time on the official event website.

All changes to the road system in Piacenza

It will begin at 2 am between Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May, continuing until the end of the passage of the athletes, the Do not stop with forced removal in Piazza Cittadella, Viale Risorgimento (on both sides), in the stretch of Viale Sant’Ambrogio between Piazzale Milano and Via Abbondanza, in Via Alberoni, in the stretch of Via La Primogenita between Via Alberoni and Piazzale Roma, in Piazzale Roma , in the stretch of Viale Patrioti between Piazzale Roma and Piazzale Libertà, in Piazzale Libertà, along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in Via Cavour, in Via XXI Aprile, Via Del Pontiere, Via Alberici, along the Po embankment, in Strada dell’Aguzzafame , road of Camposanto Vecchio, via Trebbia, via Monte Carevolo, via Anguissola and via XXI Aprile (in the stretch between via Fontana and piazzale Torino).

Furthermore, the existing parking ban in via Tramello will be revoked, as will the traffic ban in the pedestrian section of via Maculani, to allow the vehicles of race participants – by displaying the appropriate sign on the windshield – to park their vehicles.

TRAFFIC PROHIBITIONS

As for the traffic bansfrom 8.30 today, Sunday 5 May, until the end of the passage of the athletes, the following will remain closed to traffic: piazza Cittadella, via Baciocchi, viale Risorgimento, viale Sant’Ambrogio (in the stretch between piazzale Milano and via Abbondanza), via Abbondanza, via Trebbiola, piazzetta Santa Maria, via Alberoni, via La Primogenita (between via Alberoni and piazzale Roma), piazzale Roma, piazzale Libertà and viale Patrioti in the stretch between these two areas, viale Pubblico Passeggio, corso Vittorio Emanuele, piazza Cavalli, via Cavour, Piazzale Milano, Via XXI Aprile, Via Del Pontiere, the Po embankment, Strada dell’Aguzzafame, Strada di Camposanto Vecchio, Via Trebbia, Via Monte Carevolo, Via Anguissola, Via Fontana, the western carriageway of Via XXIV Maggio ( between piazzale Torino and via Da Saliceto), via Da Saliceto, piazzale Medaglie d’oro, the western carriageway of via Manfredi, via Gorra, the eastern carriageway of Corso Europa, via Calciati, piazzale Veleja and via Bolzoni.

From 8.30, until the end of the passage of the athletes, two-way traffic will be allowed along the northern lane of via Conciliazione, in the stretch between the intersection with via Don Dieci and the roundabout at via Calciati and Corso Europa; at the same time, the one-way traffic in via Bubba will be revoked.

TRAFFIC INTERRUPTIONS

They may occur along the way temporary traffic interruptions for short periods, to allow crossing the intersections that are part of the race route.

Finally, on the occasion of the Placentia Half Marathon, between 6 am and midnight on Sunday 5 May, vehicles with a maximum total mass exceeding 35 quintals will be prohibited from transiting within the area of ​​particular urban importance. All the measures listed exclude emergency vehicles, police forces on emergency duty, as well as vehicles serving the event.

Changes to public transport lines

Also on Sunday 5 May, the urban, suburban and extra-urban lines of Piacenza public transport will observe various route changes until approximately 2.00 pm to allow the event to take place. Furthermore – specifies Seta through a press release -, the passage of the athletes could lead to prolonged stops of the vehicles which could cause unforeseeable delays in the races.

URBAN SERVICE

Line 2 San Lazzaro/Sant’Antonio: buses coming from Piazzale Marconi travel along viale Il Piacentino, via Abbadia, viale Alberoni, via Roma, via Borghetto.
Line 2 Sant’Antonio/San Lazzaro: the buses coming from via Emilia Pavese travel along Piazzale Torino, via Taverna, vicolo Valverde, viale Malta, Piazzale Torino, via XXI Aprile, Piazzale Milano, via S. Ambrogio, Piazzale Marconi.
Line 3/7: adjust in both directions of travel. Possible slowdowns due to the passage of athletes crossing via Primogenita, Piazzale Libertà, via Bianchi/Manfredi, Piazzale Torino.
Line 4 direction Borgotrebbia: from piazzale Marconi it goes along via Il Piacentino, via Abbadia, via Alberoni, via Roma, via Borghetto. Furthermore, the journeys at 10.02 and 10.52 from via Vittime di Strà, having reached the end of via Campagna, reverse their route at the roundabout of via XXI Aprile to close the road up to Borgotrebbia from 10.00 to 11.30 (therefore they omit the stretch up to Borgotrebbia and the return at 10.23am and 11.13am).
Line 4 direction Peep: until 2 pm it runs along via Anguissola, via XXI Aprile, piazzale Milano, via S. Ambrogio, piazzale Marconi, piazzale Roma, piazzale Libertà.
Line 8 direction stadium: until 2 pm the buses, arriving in via Martiri della Resistenza, travel along via Trivioli, via Corvi, via Gorra, via Buozzi. Regular route in the opposite direction.
Line 15: until 2pm it is limited to the Piazzale Marconi underpass (it does not pass through via S.Ambrogio, viale Risorgimento, Piazza Duomo, via Alberoni, viale dei Mille). For Besurica: from Piazzale Marconi the buses follow the regular route. From Besurica: regular route until 2pm until Piazzale Genova, then via IV Novembre, viale Patrioti, Piazzale Marconi.
Line 16 from piazzale Marconi-FS: regular route up to Piazzale Torino, then along Via Taverna, Vicolo Valverde, Viale Malta, Piazzale Torino, Via XXI Aprile, Piazzale Milano, Via S. Ambrogio, Piazzale Marconi-FS. ATTENTION: the 10.18 and 11.00 trips from piazzale Marconi-FS arrive in via Boselli and turn into via Foresti, then via Ottolenghi, then via Don Minzoni on the regular route.

SUBURBAN SERVICE

E11 Borgonovo line: the route is regular, slowdowns are possible during transit in via Primogenita, via Sant’Ambrogio, Piazzale Milano and Piazzale Torino.

EXTRA-URBAN SERVICE

E17 Bobbio-Piacenza line; E43 Vernasca-Piacenza line: the route is regular, slowdowns are possible during transit in via Manfredi, Piazzale Libertà, Piazzale Roma, via Primogenita.
E26-E34 Bettola-Piacenza line: the route is regular, slowdowns are possible during transit in SP Valnure (Galleana area), via Manfredi, Piazzale Libertà, via Primogenita.
E57 Cremona-Piacenza line: the route is regular, slowdowns are possible during transit in Piazzale Roma, via Primogenita.
