“The pedagogical/training project “Bibliocarta” conceived by the Ethical Association and implemented with the patronage of the Municipality of Marsala and in collaboration with the municipal library “S. Struppa” thanks to the attention of the director Milena Cudia.
The project, which took place in several meetings, included various initiatives and was part of the 4th Paper Week awareness and dissemination campaign, on the correct cycle of paper waste, created by the Comieco consortium.
On 10 and 11 April, “Bibliocarta” involved the fifth classes of the primary school of the Garibaldi-Pipitone institute, who engaged in a laboratory to create recycled paper in order to create a new sheet of paper with waste paper. paper, with the help of the Ethicology operators, Simona Pecorella and Vinziana Rizzo.
“With the students, who already know how to talk about recycling, circular economy, separate waste collection, it was exciting to discuss everything that allows us to leave a light footprint on our planet” comments Simona Pecorella, President of Etilogica.
The project saw other initiatives on April 16th. A training meeting with the employees of the municipal library and the San Pietro Monumental Complex on the importance of correct separate paper collection and disposal and recycling processes. Councilor Giacomo Tumbarello also attended the meeting and complimented the initiative. At the end of the meeting, paper savers, donated by the Comieco consortium, were distributed to be placed in the offices to facilitate paper collection.
A second initiative instead included a moment of reading for the little ones thanks to the availability of Nuccia Zito (@leggiamoconmamma), who entertained the children with readings dedicated to the importance of the environment and environmental sustainability.
Reading books about the environment is a fantastic way to teach children about the importance of taking care of the planet.
Stories can help children develop empathy for animals and natural environments, perhaps inspiring children to find ways to make a difference in their community.”
