Important news for the sailing clubs of Ravenna: the state concession has been signed which assigns the body of water in front of the lighthouse to the clubs, one of the busiest areas of Marina di Ravenna, which will now have a destination linked to yachting.

The Ravenna sailing clubs, CVR together with RYC, Marinando and Marinando 2.0, (united in the Temporary Association of Competitors) have signed the contract for the concession of a particularly interesting area, which, after the works which affected the entire Ravenna port, it was only partially used.

“The use of the body of water in front of the lighthouse with a destination linked to pleasure boating was a desire expressed for some time by the Ravenna institutions and the nautical clubs that overlook it” they explain. The leader of the operation was the Circolo Velico Ravennate in the figure of president Matteo Plazzi who worked with Ravenna Yacht Club, president Maurizio Guglielmo, Marinando, president Sante Ghirardi and Marinando 2.0, president Francesco Pontone, who set up an ATC to participate together in the tender for the concession of the area.

“In the next few months the body of water will be set up with floating docks that can accommodate boats. With the new structure this body of water will be able to be the heart of the sporting and cultural events that the associations of Ravenna organize” continue the clubs.

The President of the Ravennate Sailing Club, Matteo Plazzi, considers the body of water for which the concession has been signed today to be the most beautiful in Marina di Ravenna and is proud that the clubs have managed to materialize a project that began several years ago does.

In the coming months the CVR together with RYC, Marinando and Marinando 2.0will create two floating piers which can be considered the showcase of Ravenna’s recreational and sailing activities.

The piers will also be free of architectural barriers and equipped with lifting equipment to make boarding more accessible. The aim is to become a point of reference also for the accessible nautical tourism.

The designer of the new works, engineer Giovanni Ceccarelli, adds: “This project completes the last stretch of free water within the tourist port of Marina di Ravenna, and required an executive design which is the result of a long participatory refinement process between the various ATC participants”.

“The works will begin immediately to welcome the most representative and historic boats of the clubs and the first sporting events as soon as possible” conclude the four clubs.
