What to do on May Day on the Roman coast and beyond, weather permitting? The sites of the Archaeological Park will be exceptionally open to visits. The archaeological area of ​​Ostia Antica, and in Fiumicino, respectively the archaeological area of ​​the Ports of Claudius and Trajan, the Ship Museum and the Necropolis of Isola Sacra, will observe the usual opening times and entrance fees. And on Sunday 5th for Sunday at the Museum there will be free entry to all the Park sites. On May Day, on the occasion of Labor Day, state museums, archaeological parks and places of culture will be open, with the usual costs and methods.

Furthermore, the “Castle Event” exhibition continues with free entry, on the two floors of the Artists’ Hall with the exhibition of works of art by street artists, photographers and portraitists curated by the gallerist Andrea Cerqua of Tracciati d’arte.

The Castle Museum will also be open housed inside the fourteenth-century fortress on three levels in an area of ​​800 square meters in which some of the finds brought to light during the excavations carried out at the same time as the restoration works, carried out by the Superintendence and volunteers of the archaeological group of the Cerite territory.

The Saracen Tower is also open for visits, cylindrical in shape connected to the Castle by a wooden walkway, the oldest part of the fortress which dates back to the 9th century, 20 meters high, to admire a breathtaking panorama overlooking the sea.

The Museum of the Sea and Ancient Navigation, with its seven rooms and over one hundred artefacts it allows you to get closer to the world of ancient sailors through life-size reconstructions of environments and instruments, the result of the research work of the Maritime Studies Centre, in collaboration with specialists from Italian and European universities. And as a public holiday, guided tours will also be available, with two appointments at 11.30 am and 3.00 pm
