Andora. The world’s tallest reproduction of the Endless Trophy. This is the gift that Andora has prepared to best welcome the arrival of Giro d’Italia, which will take place on Tuesday 7 May. When the 175 runners enter the last 500 meters for the final sprint they will find the faithful copy of the trophy that one of them will win upon final arrival in Rome.
The trophy is tall 8 metersthe spiral is formed by a calendered steel structure, covered with a micro-perforated fabric, with the words welcome to Andora, the coat of arms of the Municipality of Andora and the Giro d’Italia logo.
“We thought we would make Andora’s arrival unique and unforgettable to amaze the athletes and the passionate public who will come to see the Giro caravan – declares the deputy mayor Paolo Rossi – In collaboration with RCS Sport, whom I thank, we have been working for months to achieve such a good result. Designed and installed by Maco Technology by architect Roberto Maffei, graphics by Dr. Barbara Maino for RCS Sport and the precious help of Professor Carlo Battini of the University of Genoa who scanned the original trophy to allow faithful scale creation , all under the supervision of the architect Paolo Ghione for the municipality of Andora”.
