As part of the solemn celebrations in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua, at the Parish of Santa Maria Vetere in Andria, which has always relied on his paternal protection, the historical re-enactment of the “Transit of Saint Anthony” returns again this year , the last earthly journey of the Saint from Camposampiero to the Arcella sanctuary.
The traditional sacred representation, now in its 12th edition, will take place on Saturday 15 June 2024 and represents one of the most evocative events of the festival, with more than 200 participants, all “reconstructed” with extensive research on the character and costume, which they recreate an imagery that takes us back to the procession of that distant 13 June 1231.
Therefore, those who wish to apply for the parade as a walk-on, the organization says, can go to the Tailoring Laboratory of the Convent-Parish Santa Maria Vetere – Andria. Participation is open to the entire Andria community, schools and associations.
