Summer is about to arrive and, with it, one of the most awaited jazz festivals, but not only. Let’s talk about More Than Jazzthe festival organized by SimulArte and ready to return in summer 2024 for its 6th edition.
And as has become tradition in view of the official start, here is one of the previews which anticipate the actual event. Friday 3 May at 9pm in the Mons. Pigani Auditorium Reana Rojale hosts a concert by the award-winning drummer of Serbian origin Dejan Terzić.
Guest of More Than Jazz, Terzić will present his second album released with the Cam Jazz label and entitled Silent Dancer. On stage too Axiom, the band that permanently accompanies him on his artistic journey. As in the previous album entitled Prometheus, Terzić fuses American jazz with European popular tradition and other modern sounds, creating music that escapes the attempt of easy comparisons, but claims, in a play on words with the group’s name, the attribute of “axiomatics”.
Supporting Terzić will therefore still be saxophonist Chris Speed, one of the most appreciated professionals on the current music scene, pianist Bojan Zulfikarpašić, himself a leader with long experience, and bassist Matt Penman, whose contribution goes beyond simple reliability .
Silent Dancer was recorded and mixed in March 2020 by Stefano Amerio at the Artesuono studios in nearby Cavalicco, with the artistic production of Ermanno Basso. The mastering was handled by Danilo Rossi.
