«A place both imaginary and real. Not the southernmost province of Italy, but one of the pearls of Sicily.” Thus Giorgia’s voice begins the story of the city which, due to the light, the architecture and the crystalline sea, became the natural backdrop of the series taken from Camilleri’s novels and which she told on the channel “The places of Inspector Montalbano” on Loquis, the digital platform that collects the stories told by those who live in or pass through an area and leaves a sound trail to the community of other travellers.

On the occasion of the International Voice Day, the travel podcast app created by Bruno Pellegrini and founded with Fabrizio Cialdea inaugurates the “100 voices for 100 places” channel: 100 new podcasts, one for each Italian provincial capital, published simultaneously for draw a new map of stories, traditions and curiosities. Each contribution is curated by voice professionals who are part of the Loquis Factory, a passionate and creative network for authorial travel podcasting that expands the numerous contents already offered spontaneously by users. Among the various contributions, the atlas of speaking places has a section dedicated to Ragusa with insights edited by Giorgia Bofferi.

A Milanese graphic designer and owner of a communications studio, for Bofferi «the emotional involvement that a voice gives you is a completely different thing. The relationship with Sicily comes from afar. My dear aunt, a voracious reader, made me read Inspector Montalbano detective stories written by Andrea Camilleri. It was love at first sight. I had to go there. I made a sort of pilgrimage… Ragusa, Scicli, Punta Secca, Sampieri, Noto… I fell in love with everything that surrounded me but, most of all, with the people.”

The new discovery of the territory – between the cathedral of San Giovanni and the underlying bass, the church of Santa Maria delle Scale, the Duomo of San Giorgio and the Circolo di Conversazione – in fact passes through a real meeting with his community, beyond the idea of travel as a consumer good and the geolocalized review format. Every voice, in fact, is looking for company, as happened in exchanges between travelers and can still happen today. In the name of a new digital humanism, Loquis invites all lovers of the immense heritage that precedes and accompanies the visible one, in the stories of those who have built part of the imagination linked to a particular place, to offer their own version. In fact, this sound atlas has infinite pages still to be written. An opportunity open to all podcasters on Loquis to help enrich the telling of the stories of the world, to be an active part of this unique experience, contributing with the story of their places to inspire those who travel to rediscover the beauty of reality with new eyes .
