Italy is preparing to face Cyclone Gori, with weather warnings issued in various regions from Civil protection and forecasts of intense phenomena reported by the Air Force Meteorological Service. The sub-seasonal forecasts indicate a collapse in temperatures, which could drop up to 15°C below average, with maximum temperatures locally decreasing by up to 17 degrees. This change is due to the arrival of polar air from Scandinavia, which will bring thunderstorms and possible hail to the North-East and scattered rain to the South, residues of a North African depression.
Cyclone Gori arrives in Italy, where and when it will rain: risk of strong storms. Weather alert in 6 regions
The drop in temperatures will begin on Tuesday evening and will extend across the entire country on Wednesday 17 April, with maximum temperatures not exceeding 20°C. Snow will make its appearance in the Apennines up to 1000 meters above sea level, and the Alps and mountains from Tuscany to Molise will also be dressed in white.
