In the next few days the weather and climate picture will undergo an abrupt change. Italy will find itself dealing with a Cold Vortex cwhich will affect the weather in all our regions, triggering thunderstorms, gusts of wind and even hailstorms by the end of the day on Tuesday 16 April.
During the night, the phenomena will tend to move towards Central-Southern Italy, with rain, local thunderstorms between Campania, Calabria and Puglia. Rain and showers will also affect some areas of Sicily.
From Wednesday 17 April a phase of strong instability will begin which will accompany us throughout the day, in particular in the north-eastern regions and most of the central-southern ones. Watch out for temperatureswhich will begin to fall clearly, returning to values appropriate to the period.
From Thursday 18 April the cold winds will break in with greater force, feeding a cyclonic vortex that will position itself over the central regions. Cold bad weather is therefore expected in the Centre, in part of the South, as well as in part of the North-East, but here it is improving.
Pay attention to snow which may drop to rather low altitudes for the period both in the Alps but also in the Apennines on average beyond 1000/1200 meterswith local choreographic flakes even up to altitude 850/900 meters. It will be the day with the average daily temperature plus cold of the entire week.
Also the weekend will probably pass under the banner of one marked instability and in a decidedly cool climate contextsometimes even cold at night, with temperatures not much above zero.
