The last works were carried out during the Semproni administration. The latest intervention was carried out thanks to the funds allocated by the Region, through the Civil Protection, after the Pennese municipal sports center hosted the rescuers of all the forces involved during the Rigopiano emergency in January 2017. The renovation work on the sports center in the Campetto district, in Penne, was carried out by the Pangea consortium Scarl of Pescara. With the works, awarded to the company for 375,432.34 euros, in addition to restoring the full functionality of the building, the bottom of the indoor tennis courts was repaired as well as the reconstruction of the cycle/pedestrian path, new road surface and installation of horizontal and vertical signs , securing the tent facilities, arrangement of furniture and greenery. Today, for those who jog or walk along the cycle/pedestrian path it is also easy to notice that there is no lighting: at least 6 street lamps have been torn down along the route with the presence of exposed wires.
