A May 1st to talk about work, creativity and associations organized in Legnano by by CGIL, UIL and CISL that they wanted to propose “First AltoMilanese music competition May 1st”. Something new that the unions they intend to make it a tradition by also establishing an ad hoc committee to better follow every organizational aspect. Originally planned to be an outdoor event at Falcone Borsellino Park, the initiative was transferred due to bad weather at the Tirinnanzi Theater in Legnano. But the classic procession with the final rally will not undergo changes: it will start at 9.30 like every year from Piazza Monumento in Legnano and will reach Piazza Monumento. Here the trade union representatives will make their speeches then all citizens will be invited to participate in the party organized at the theater between music and associations. Closing the day will be the band BPER.
To go into detail about the event Luigi Tripodi confederal coordinator Legnano, Magenta, Abbiategrasso Uil Lombardy with Mario Principe secretary of the CGIL Ticino Olona. Both spoke today, Monday 29 April, at the headquarters Uil in via Quintino Sella in Legnano.«We wanted to involve citizens with a more complex event than usual – explain the two trade unionists -. Music has the ability to do this. We also thought about giving space to young people looking for a stage on which to perform. It must be said that the response was enthusiastic: in 18 hours we received 14 registrations. However, the competition is aimed at bands so we made a forced selection. It was a complicated organizational process from a bureaucratic point of view. But in the end we succeeded. Precisely because it is not easy to organize an event of this type, we have decided to establish a permanent committee. We thank all the institutions and collaborators who made the organization of this event possible, despite the challenges encountered. We invite everyone to participate.” It should be remembered that two associations will also be present. Both collaborated in the realization of the event, it is the Uildm Legnano and the Mazzafame Neighborhood Committee.
The competition and the concert
The contest is divided into two strands, one aimed at cover bands, the other at authorial music. The artistic direction is entrusted to Stefano Re, while the jury will be made up of Roberto Billiani and Laura Bonomo. The event will be hosted by local comedian Max Pisu. The participating bands are: The WetDogs; Homecoming125; The Lives of Others; My fault; Noise_Lab_Band; Department of Great Stoners and Magic Thursday.
At the end of the competition the performance of the note will follow Emilian band BPER. Entrance to the theater (600 seats) will be free. So the appointment is on Wednesday 1st May from 2pm onwards.
