TRIESTE. A serious accident occurred this afternoon, Tuesday 16 April, inside the garden of the Maggiore hospital in Trieste. A 50-year-old man was hit by a tree, which fell due to the intense gusts of bora that were hitting the city.
The accident and immediate rescue
The man from Trieste, who was in hospital to visit his elderly mother, was the victim of this unexpected accident when, suddenly, a strong wind broke the plant causing it to fall on the visitor. Hit in the head, the man was immediately helped by medical staff at the Maggiore hospital.
The injured man, initially treated with code red, suffered a cut to the head as well as injuries to the abdomen and limbs. The rapid reaction of the rescuers allowed an essential first intervention to stabilize his condition.
