Like every year, this spring too Reggio Emilia blooms again, throwing open its doors to Fotografia Europea, one of the most anticipated and important national and international photography and visual arts events.
For this edition, a novelty directly involves our Region, and in particular makes the students of the Nicola Da Guardiagriele Art School of Chieti talk about themselves through a series of photographic shots.
Giovanna Zampagni (1990), artist and teacher of the Institute itself, and Daniele Di Biase (1987), photographer, set up their installation, starting the exhibition itinerary offered by the Off Circuit of Via Roma, with macro photographs (2.5 m height one!) of the young students of the art high school.
“Io Esisto Really” is the name of the work, created in collaboration with the Via Roma Zero Association and open to visitors from 26 April to 5 May 2024.
This XI edition of European Photography has as its theme “Nature loves to hide”: it is precisely from this phrase that the two artists decide to decipher this hidden nature through a series of performative and then photographic exercises, taking as a sample 20 students from the Art School Nicola da Guardiagrele of Chieti Scalo.
The exhibition I ESISTO DAVVERO, conceived by Zampagni and DiBiase and presented with subtle poetics by the curator Stefania Dubla (Matera, 1990), was designed to be placed in a public space, to welcome students into the habitat of a reality common to all .
The research started directly from the school gym where, quoting the curator’s words, >.
“Io Esisto Truly” is a hymn to self-discovery and the recognition of one’s existence within a single global body, a body in which, admitting the dissolution of boundaries that close concepts, the multitude is accepted as the sole idea of nature .
