New funding for the “Destra Adige” cycle path in San Martino

SAN MARTINO DI VENEZZE (Rovigo) – Funding in sight for slow mobility a Saint martin.

The Municipality on the banks of the Adige has obtained important funding for the construction and implementation of a stretch of cycle path in the area, between Via Marconi and Via Saline.

The mayor announced it Elisa Seven: “The Veneto Region, in line with its integrated strategy of sustainable urban development, will guarantee financing deriving from community funds between now and 2027, to stimulate initiatives and projects across our territories”.

The first citizen explains: “This initiative will allow us to create an important new cycle route. The financing opportunity is the result of the aggregation of 13 municipal administrations which were established in the urban authority of Rovigo (Auro), with around 100 thousand inhabitants, in order to be able to benefit from these loans which in our case concern the area of ​​slow mobility.”

Sette continues: “The design of the cluster regarding the cycle paths will be done in an integrated way between the municipalities of Badia Polesine (leader), Lendinara and San Martino di Venezze. The other municipalities that make up the urban area are Rovigo, Adria, Arquà Polesine, Bosaro, Ceregnano, Costa di Rovigo, Lusia, Pontecchio Polesine, Villadose, and Villanova del Ghebbo”.

“The public works technical office of the Municipality of San Martino, in coordination with the guidelines and objectives indicated by Auro, has carried out a preliminary study of a cycle path that connects the current “Destra Adige” embankment path with the center of the capital, continuing and implementing the current route of via Marconi and subsequent continuation along via Saline up to the Eni service station”.

There have already been several meetings in recent weeks between administrators and the respective technicians of the municipalities involved, in order to better organize the joint planning. The mayor Elisa Sette, the technical manager Silvano Polo and the councilor for public works Riccardo Saoner participated at the table.

The work has a total cost of 440 thousand euros, 75% of which is financed through the Veneto Region.

The mayor concludes: “This project will not only improve the quality of life of residents, but will also contribute to reducing the environmental impact of urban mobility. I would like to say that the creation of new cycle paths is an objective that we care a lot about as the municipal administration, and on which we are also active in other tenders”.
