Tomorrow evening at 9pm Neugries and Trento will compete to win the championship and the consequent promotion to Serie B. They will do so with a play-off, after the two teams ended the regular season on equal points. The venue chosen for the important challenge is the Gasteiner gym in Bolzano, the home of Neugries last season.
It is clear that the decision was not well received by Trento, much less by the majority of fans and professionals, regardless of their sporting faith. Trento doesn’t like the choice and, in all sincerity, it doesn’t convince us either.
Having found the unavailability of the Laives gym, which was the first option, the Gasteiner was opted for, with the consequent advantage for one of the two teams. The fact of playing the play-off in Bolzano alone could have given rise to some discussion: asking Trento to play the Serie B in the “enemy’s lair” objectively seems too much to us. At the limits of correctness, probably beyond.
At the very least, we could have thought of a different solution, still from Bolzano, perhaps opting for the PalaResia. Waiting to know what Trento will decide, which as a sign of protest could even decide not to show up. Hypothesis that we hope will not be taken into consideration, but which would be understood by most.
