Marsala. Juan Lorenzo and the flamenco guitar at the Sollima theater

Sunday 21 April at 6pm at the Sollima Theater in Marsala, for the Concert Season of the L. Van Beethoven Association, directed by Maestro Giuseppe Lo Cicero. the awaited great event of the extraordinary flamenco guitarist Juan Lorenzo.

Graduated in Seville under the guidance of Miguel Perez and Mario Escudero. In almost thirty years of activity, he has held around 2000 concerts, collaborating with several great artists, including Andrea Bocelli, Mario Reyes of the Gipsy Kings, Jethro Tull, Tony Esposito, Al di Meola, Pino Daniele.

In 1996 he founded the company “Flamenco Libre”, performing in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, the former Yugoslavia, Tunisia, the United States and Russia.

In 2003 he toured with the concert for flamenco guitar and orchestra, performing in some prestigious Italian venues; G. Verdi conservatory of Turin, Ghione theater in Rome, and in 2008-2009 with the project for solo guitar “Flamenco de Concierto” he performed in some of the most prestigious international halls such as: Tchaikovsky hall (Moscow), Palazzo Pitti (Florence), Teatro Parioli (Rome), Blutenburger Konzerte (Munich), War Memorial and Performing Arts Center of San Francisco (California), Teatro Comunale Di Lugano (Switzerland), Teatro Politeama (Palermo).

In 2013 he performed this repertoire for the University of Seville giving a concert in the headquarters of the largest institution in the world for the “Chair of Flamencology”. The highest cultural, artistic and institutional authorities in the sector were present, and in 2018 he received the “Maison des Artistes” International Lifetime Achievement Award in the Aula Magna at La Sapienza University of Rome. He is a flamenco guitar teacher at the Higher Institute of Musical Studies “G. Briccialdi” of TERNI. He has obtained prizes, special mentions, scholarships and recognitions in more than fifty national and international piano competitions; carries out an intense concert activity playing as a soloist throughout Italy and abroad (Switzerland, Spain, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, France, Czech Republic, Russia, Greece, Great Britain, Poland), receiving warm appreciation by the public and critics.
