TURIN – A delegation from FIOM CGIL of Lecco participated in the demonstration called in Turin by FIOM CGIL, FIM CISL, UILM UIL, UGLM, FISMIC and AQCF to request the relaunch of the automotive sectorincreasingly marginalized from the political agenda, mortified by decades of layoffs, lack of investments and progressive disengagement of the Stellantis group.
The mobilization was aimed primarily at the economic relaunch of a city, Turin, through the valorisation of its symbolic establishment, that of Mirafioriwhere they are currently produced approximately annually 500 thousand cars in front of one triple production capacity; but the defense of Mirafiori and the other Stellantis production sites brings with it that of all the factories in theautomotive related industriesalso present in the Lecco area especially in terms of car components and small metal parts. They have been closed 5 thousand in recent years, all condemned by the crisis of the parent company: a century-long heritage of knowledge, ideas and family legacies that cannot be squandered.
